Its an audacious venture to start a commercial recording studio in this day and age. However, I have been writing & recording for many years and its what I love. So in sense the journey began a long time ago. From four track Fostex Portastudio to fully loaded studio with SSL console and all the latest technological gizmos – its been a long road. However, it has always been and always will be about making music and that is what I am looking forward to most in this journey.

First up will be a great band called Artbreak in February who have previously worked with the mighty Tony Visconti – so no pressure there ! As well as Artbreak, I will also be continuing to work on the next Empire State album with Andy Morris, Steve Mercer, Rab McGowan and Danny Williams. I will also be welcoming another set of talented musicians called Beautiful Grey at the beginning of May which I’m really looking forward to.  I am sure there will be others to welcome as well.

In getting Blackberry Studios off the ground big thanks go out to Roger Ostman for promotion, Jon Pugh & George Jamieson for help commissioning the studio and as always Christina Wood for her love & understanding.
